In the summer of 2023, I dropped in to see a friend on Clinton Street in the Lower East Side who was working on the build-out of his new restaurant, Oti NYC.

There's something special about watching someone make their dream happen.

We were already planning to collaborate on dishes for the restaurant but as the ideas started to flow, it turned into something bigger. 

A few months later, we celebrated the grand opening of Dear Gloria Studio at Oti with a housewarming dinner. Our collaboration with Oti feels so natural. At the end of the day, we are both about connection - bringing neighbors together, and connecting neighbor and maker. What started as a storage room filled with construction materials is now a tiny little ceramics studio where artists come to collaborate on products for the shop and Oti patrons come to see where their dishes were made.
